National Coming Out Day

source
It's National Coming Out Day! I would like to extend a huge congratulations to anyone who has come out this past year. We know it's not always easy, but it's great that you are willing to be open and true to YOU!

For those that are still not out, it's okay! There is no set time or moment that is right for everyone. Keep being yourself (as much as possible in your circumstances) and remember that help is out there if you need it.

It's probably terrifying to come out even if the people around you are clued in somehow. Proud and applaud those who have already, and for those who have yet to do so, I wish them the best.

It's sad that we still have to call people "brave" for revealing who they are. But there has been progress, albeit slow, and maybe one day soon this will no longer be the case. After all, we don't call anyone "brave" when they mention the color of their skin or their sign, do we? Until then...
