In My Mailbox for the First Time Ever

I've never done In My Mailbox on here...but I figured it might be a nice way of showing off some new LGBT items I have (I being Lauren of course), especially if the actual review of it may take awhile to be posted.

However, I got Dream Boy by Jim Grimsley at Borders. They were having a New Year Clearance sale, and I picked this one up for a good deal. I'm pretty excited as I've been wanting to read it for awhile now. It sounds like a really good book...but very sad and realistic (which I do love as well!)

First Off: What's your thoughts on the book? Sound interesting? Oh, and be sure to check out the Don't Ask, Don't Tell post. No comments yet but we'd love to hear your thoughts on the new changes.

Second: What did you get in your mailbox? Any LGBT books?

I haven't read Dream Boy but I really want to, sounds good. I found out that my library has The Vast Fields of Ordinary by Nick Burd and so I will be taking that out as soon as possible!

Dream Boy is one of my favorite Gay Fiction books - it's also the only gay fiction book that I've read more than twice (I read it about once a year). It was realistic, sad, terrifying, and joyful - I'm not ashamed to admit that when I first read it (in High School) I cried. Of course, High School me - macho popular dude- would never have admitted that. :P

Adam: I used to do that with The Perks of Being a Wallflower...read it about once a year. I need to read it again though, it's a favorite.

I'm glad to hear that you like Dream Boy. I've wanted to read it for a very long time. I believe I've read one book by the author...but that's it.

No LGBT books, but I enjoyed my IMMB nonetheless. Here are to many more IMMB posts :)
